TTO mapped the technology landscape and assessed 9 major classes of emerging technologies based on their potential impact, their time-to-market, and the level of activity in the specific R&D area.
TTO offered advice on which technologies are likely represent a large impact as well as strategies for whether to engage, observe or ignore the technologies and key players.
From a list of technologies the first candidate was chosen. And TTO was asked to map the technology development on a time scale at least up to 25 years within the given technology field and identify essential opportunities and collaboration partners for the company.
A global player in the renewable energy sector has developed a dual-technology strategy.
The core technologies are to be owned and mastered by the company itself. The relevant non-core technologies are to be analysed and monitored on a regular basis in order to obtain early warning in case impact-creating technology events take place.
